Maryville, Tennessee

This monumental mural, titled "Senderos" (meaning "paths" or "trails"), is located in Maryville, Tennessee. Created as part of the "Walls for Women" project, artist Nicole Salgar spent over 100 hours painting this large-scale piece, which spans 100 feet wide and 35 feet tall.

The artwork features a serene woman with a mesmerizing gaze, her existence flowing "through time without boundaries," as described by the artist. A key and a lock, symbols of gateways to the unknown and unlocking the hidden self, are central to the composition. The breathtaking backdrop of misty mountains pays homage to Maryville's location in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

This mural is a beautiful blend of maternal and feminine spirit, connecting reality, dreams, and time, and serves as a powerful tribute to both the local community and the larger theme of female empowerment.
